County demands restaurant owner in Apple Bistro California required customers to wear masks, but she would not comply. She then sought help from. one of our members in Nike Insights.

A summary of the Restaurant Case.
1. The county demanded the Restaurant owner require everyone to wear a mask. The owner did not comply and sought help from free Citizens.
2. She put up a big sign, “No Masks Allowed.”
3. The County sued.
4. She stated there was no county law requiring masks, no law mandate in her contract, and no state law. We won that round.
5. The county came in and removed her license from the Restaurant and took her to court again.
6. She argued the county stole the license and that she was in conformity with the law; that it was the county who disobeyed the law. We won that round.
7. In the meantime, the license expired.
8. The county took the owner to court saying she was operating without a license. We argued that since she has no contract with the county, and the county has no authority over her. The court stalled stammered and decided to “think” about it. The owner continued to operate as she has always done.
9. Knowing her rights to earn a living was a stake, she appointed to county attorney as fiduciary for her rights in this case (Form 56). Having a conflict of interest, the case could not go forward. A hearing to review the matter is set in two months. We will demand the county attorney fulfill his fiduciary duty to protect the owner’s right to operate and earn a living.
The case is on going, but the maskers are on the run.
