The whole world has the jitters these days, and rightly so. Negativity saturates the news. The smell of judgment is in the air.
Many Christians have fallen into error that there are modern day prophets who have an inside connection with God and that He is revealing to them future events. These people do not need the Scripture, God is speaking to them directly today. These people do not believe the Scripture is sufficient, they need prophets to tell them what to believe and how to think. Consider a so called prophecy, “A message from the Lord,” by the pseudo prophetess, Patricia Green–a “prediction” by the way which is the result of carefully studying the jingle-jangle news about September 2015.
Says one, “The mystery continues surrounding September, especially September 23, 2015. What will happen? Will September be the beginning of the end as we know it? Are all these things that keep popping up about September coincidence? Could be, but I don’t think so.
Take a look at the prophecy below, for example given by Patricia Green. Her prophecy confirms that we are in serious trouble!”
“September 23rd is the day Obama makes a pact with the devil. It was not by chance that the Pope and Obama are meeting on the Day of Atonement. (September 23, 2015) They will make a pact that will seal the fate of the United States of America. My vengeance will be poured out from this point forward. (September 23rd) There is no turning back.
Tell My people to draw close to Me in these last days. Tell them to purify their hearts by the washing of the water of My Word. Tell them to ask My Spirit to expose any wickedness within themselves, so they can repent and be clean.
I am returning for My Bride without spot or wrinkle. I am coming for a pure Bride. Only those who are purified by My Spirit and My Word are My Bride. There will be no pretending when I return. Many will say, “LORD, LORD, did I not prophesy in Your Name, heal the sick, cast out demons, and bring people into Your kingdom?” And I will say to those who had impure hearts, “Get from Me, I never knew you.”
This is the time for self-reflection. If you judge yourself in this season and repent of your hidden sin, your sin will not be exposed to your shame.

First, notice the lack of specificity and the general glaze of this so called prophecy. That Obama and the Pope will meet is news, not prophecy; and, “to purify hearts” is a Biblical exhortation applicable for all Christians all the time (James 4:8). The other statements are general quotes from Scripture, and not of a prophetic nature. The boldness to claim this is a prophecy from God and the blatant disrespect for sufficiency of Scripture is nothing short of stunning.
Second, while political events are heated oven hot this summer, it is no reason to fall under the spell of pseudo prophetesses. My advice, keep your head down in the Good Book. It contains all the light you need about the future, and all the instruction you need to please Christ during these uncertain times (2 Peter 2:1ff; Psalm 19:7-11ff; 2 Peter 2:11ff).
