There are two qualities I like about Hammer and Sickle Bernie Sanders:
First, he is honest–not realistic, but truthful. He admits he’s a socialist. He’s better than Obama who was a socialist, but didn’t admit it.
Secondly, he is a guy who doesn’t quit!
By his own chronicle, he ran for the U.S. Senate in 1971 in a special election as a third-party candidate and got 2 percent of the vote. In 1972, he ran for governor and got 1 percent. In 1974, he once again tried for the Senate and climbed to 4 percent. Not deterred, in 1976 he sought the governorship and received a lofty 6 percent. He then “gave the people of Vermont a break” for five years and in 1981 ran for mayor of Burlington (home of Ben & Jerry’s ice cream.) He finally won an election by a landslide margin of 10 votes (after the recount). You really have to admire the guy for his fortitude! Amazing!
Third, he’s a modest shoestring fundraiser: In 2013, Sanders made $1,500 for speeches, which he donated to charity as required by federal law. In 2014, he accepted $1,850 for paid speeches. He travel’s coach class airfaire By contrast, Clinton charged, and kept, over $21 million during the same time period, and has her own personal jet–hardly the working girl’s woman.
But, there are some disturbing things about Bernie one needs to consider:
As president, Senator Bernie Sanders will reduce income and wealth inequality by:
Isn’t “Equality” a code word for communist socialism which stresses income parity; that is, equal pay for unequal work and skills? Work less, make more, security for all! Who can possibly be against that? If you believe this, you must also believe in the tooth fairy.
Bernie promises the a whole sack of goodies to all who vote for him. Yes, you can have your cake and eat it too . . . if you Bet on Bernie!
Bernie makes no promises about reducing the deficit or building the military. He’s all Santa Claus.
Elect Bernie, and he’ll take all the money away from all those greedy rich people and give away the family farm to all us poor, oppressed Americans out here in Poorville.
Demanding that the wealthy and large corporations pay their fair share in taxes. As president, Sen. Sanders will stop corporations from shifting their profits and jobs overseas to avoid paying U.S. income taxes. He will create a progressive estate tax on the top 0.3 percent of Americans who inherit more than $3.5 million. He will also enact a tax on Wall Street speculators who caused millions of Americans to lose their jobs, homes, and life savings.
“Fair share” is another code term for wealth distribution–a policy Lenin and Stalin would be proud to support.
In fact, Bernie is for a “massive transfer” of wealth. I like the word “massive” because its shames Obama for only doubling the national debt.
Like Obama, Bernie believes that “spreadin’ the wealth around is good for everybody” (said to Joe the Plummer). This is democratic code talk for stealin’.
Who can be against people paying their “fair share.” It’s constitutional, you know!
Isn’t taxing the rich a high sounding democratic ploy to obtain votes from citizens who forgot to pay their brain bill?
If yur antennae don’t pick up all da channels, Bernie’s yur man!
Bring that money back to his country so the government can tax it, You Business Scrooges.
Increasing the federal minimum wage from $7.25 to $15 an hour by 2020. In the year 2015, no one who works 40 hours a week should be living in poverty.
Will Bernie also guarantee that a hamburger will not cost $15.00? Will he also guarantee there will not be inflation and that the small business owner won’t go out of business? I doubt it.
If doubling the minimum wage is good for America, why not triple or quadruple the minimum wage? Hell, make it a law that every business owner must double their employees’ wages. That’ll put an end to all those nasty, greedy, covetous, employee oppressing business men!
Putting at least 13 million Americans to work by investing $1 trillion over five years towards rebuilding our crumbling roads, bridges, railways, airports, public transit systems, ports, dams, wastewater plants, and other infrastructure needs.
Where is this $1 trillion going to come from?
Isn’t this the same old, worn, tiresome liberal democratic phraseology used in all election? Isn’t this what Obama did in 2007-2008? Who, by the way, doubled the national debt? Bernie’s financial policy are Obama’s omnibus bill on steroids.
Reversing trade policies like NAFTA, CAFTA, and PNTR with China that have driven down wages and caused the loss of millions of jobs. If corporate America wants us to buy their products they need to manufacture those products in this country, not in China or other low-wage countries.
This sounds good on the surface. Dang those Chinese! But, won’t this cause a price war and cause prices of goods to rise? Just asking.
Creating 1 million jobs for disadvantaged young Americans by investing $5.5 billion in a youth jobs program. Today, the youth unemployment rate is off the charts. We have got to end this tragedy by making sure teenagers and young adults have the jobs they need to move up the economic ladder.
I agree young adults need jobs. But, who is going to produce those jobs? Bernie acts like the government has tons of extra money to spend. Where is the $5.5 billion going to come from? From you and me who have jobs and who aren’t paying enough taxes?
Since when is it the government’s job to create government jobs? Aren’t jobs created in the private sector? This sounds like a bad rerun featuring FD Roosevelt and Jimmy Carter.
Fighting for pay equity by signing the Paycheck Fairness Act into law. It is an outrage that women earn just 78 cents for every dollar a man earns.
Has Bernie ever thought that many family members have a man working and a wife staying home to raise their kids. Is he now going to punish Christian homes and force wives and mothers into the work place because they can’t make it on their husband’s income. Isn’t this an attack on the family?
And, what about those women who make more than men? Shouldn’t their income be reduced to make life fair for men?
Why is Bernie declaring war on the responsible American male?
Making tuition free at public colleges and universities throughout America. Everyone in this country who studies hard should be able to go to college regardless of income.
Darn those universities that charge tuition. Shame on them! Way to go, Bernie! “Free Education,” is a human right!
Er, uh, where is the money going to come from to do this . . . oh, yes, triple taxes on the American family! If you make it, send it in. Funny, Bernie forgot to mention this. I don’t know why.
Expanding Social Security by lifting the cap on taxable income above $250,000. At a time when the senior poverty rate is going up, we have got to make sure that every American can retire with dignity and respect.
Way to go, Bernie. I’m retired! I like it! Hummm? Where is the money going to come from? Oh, yes, Bernie will double taxes on young working adults to make sure the oldies can retire on social security. Go Bernie! Yur my man! I’m really glad you want to make America just like Greece.
Guaranteeing healthcare as a right of citizenship by enacting a Medicare for all single-payer healthcare system. It’s time for the U.S. to join every major industrialized country on earth and provide universal healthcare to all.
Gee, didn’t Obama just do that? And, isn’t this system already out of money?
Where are the dollars going to come from to do this? Oh, yes! Lower the income of doctors, tax the hell out of the family man, and print money on the government’s printing presses like there is no tomorrow.
Requiring employers to provide at least 12 weeks of paid family and medical leave; two weeks of paid vacation; and 7 days of paid sick days. Real family values are about making sure that parents have the time they need to bond with their babies and take care of their children and relatives when they get ill.
How can anyone disagree with this.
Heck, why not force the employers to give their non-working employees 18 weeks of paid family leave? Those small business owners can afford it, those rich gluttons! Don’t forget. Those babies need to bond with their mothers before they are shiipped off to 17.8 years of indoctrination in some public fool system.
Enacting a universal childcare and prekindergarten program. Every psychologist understands that the most formative years for a human being is from the ages 0-3. We have got to make sure every family in America has the opportunity to send their kids to a high quality childcare and pre-K program.
Shame on those mothers who want to stay home and raise their children. Let’s tax families, make mothers go to work, and then take kids out of the home at six months of age to insure complete indoctrination of the child against God, family, and church.
Making it easier for workers to join unions by fighting for the Employee Free Choice Act. One of the most significant reasons for the 40-year decline in the middle class is that the rights of workers to collectively bargain for better wages and benefits have been severely undermined.
Way to go, Bernie. Unionize ever industry and do away with private contracts!
Nothing like democracy at work in Amerika! Go comrade.
Breaking up huge financial institutions so that they are no longer too big to fail. Seven years ago, the taxpayers of this country bailed out Wall Street because they were too big to fail. Yet, 3 out of the 4 largest financial institutions are 80 percent bigger today than before we bailed them out. Sen. Sanders has introduced legislation to break these banks up. As president, he will fight to sign this legislation into law.
I like it . . . and, while you are at it, do away with the Federal Reserve System–Oh, I forgot, you are going to appoint a series of government regional presidents confirmed by the Senate to govern the Feds. Yep, that’ll work!
Uh, er, Bernie, why didn’t you mention the “constitution,” or “individual responsibility,” or lower taxation on the family, or reducing the deficit, or reducing inflation and deflation, or smaller government, and less taxes on small business, and stopping immigration which causes unfair competition in the job market? Bernie, you promised the American worker utopia, but can you deliver? Me thinks you need to visit with Jimmy Carter and talk about peanuts. It appears to me, you plan to tax America into prosperity. What would we do without progressive, socialist liberals like you running for office?
If you are a Bernie Sanders’ fan, don’t think, just go ahead and vote with your emotions. Bernie feels so good . . doesn’t he? I get tingles up and down my leg just thinking about his promises, don’t you? Follow your feelings, and Bet on Bernie.
A vote for Bernie is proof that evolution goes in reverse.
