“A private school in east Georgia intends to start drug-testing its oldest students.
The Columbus Ledger-Enquirer reports that Brookstone School in Columbus recently announced that the drug-testing of students in grades 8-12 will be voluntary next school year – and then mandatory in succeeding years” ( Metro Atlanta / State news).
Isn’t this what the 4th Amendment was designed to prevent?
“The right of the people to be secure in their persons (hair/DNA), houses, papers, and effects, (and hair) against unreasonable searches and seizures, shall not be violated, and no Warrants shall issue, but upon probable cause, supported by Oath or affirmation, and particularly describing the place to be searched, and the persons or things to be seized.”
Amazing. Let’s take away the 4th Amendment rights of the students so we can have a drug free school. Nothing beats taking away freedom to secure compliance to school policy.
Anything can be done under the guise of health and safety.
Is the goal of this private Brookstone Judeo-Christian school to produce sugar-sweet statists that believe in to total subjugation of the total man to total government?
