Good news! In case you haven’t heard . . . .
Dr. Kent Hovind, a creation research apologist, who was wrongfully charged, inadequately defended, and wrongly convicted, was released from Federal Prison on July 8th, 2015.
Dr. Hovind, who did nothing wrong except being too good at exposing the flawed argument of evolutionists, was targeted by government officials who sicced their IRS pit bull on him.
He faced three main charges: not forcibly withholding taxes from volunteers, “structuring;” that is, paying his people in cash, and not cooperating with an IRS agent who was trying to find a reason to indict him. Further, after nearly ten years in prison, the DOJ attempted to keep him in prison for life by charging him with three counts of mail fraud. What is mail fraud? Sending his legal briefs and appeals to the court through the U.S. mail–briefs that defended his actions and exposed the many flaws in the prosecutors arguments in his trial process. The prosecutor, which by the way, was charged with child molestation shortly after prosecuting Dr. Hovind. What a scumbag. But, these are the kinds of people working for the shameless federal government.
Further, what a corrupt system with trillions of regulations all designed to make every man a criminal!
Dr. Hovind would have been released earlier but the Bureau of Prisons, a for-profit corporation, messed up the paperwork. Gee, I wonder why?
Like the apostles who used their prison time to write the letters of the New Testament, Dr. Hovind’s experience was not in vain. While in prison, Kent saw over 800 professions of faith.
Like so many heroes of faith, Dr. Hovind maintains his innocence and his faith. He never apologized. Rightly so. He was targeted by secular, unethical statists who used the Godless IRS Gorilla and the lawless court system to crush him for daring to challenge their investment in nonsensical evolutionary theories regarding origins.
When government is god in the minds of the legal community, you cannot expect the rule of law to prevail.
Dr. Hovind expressed his joy at being home with family and friends. We are glad he is out and wish him the very best.
