Seventeen dead, the students at Parkland High protested . . . carried signs blaming the NRA for the shootings by Nikolas Cruz . . .
They did not ask for justice or that the killer be hung by the neck until dead. They demanded the city do something to keep them safe . . . and that Congress take away guns from all innocent Americans.
The government reacted and here is what they students got:
-a new law requiring students to carry an ID at all times.
-a new rule that students have to carry clear, see-through backpacks. No more privacy. Everyone knows what you are carrying. Teachers and fellow students can see all your stuff (Daily Beast).
-each student will be given a badge they have to wear at all times. Maybe the badge will protect them from the next shooter.
Can you say, “Prison?”
The students demanded the government do something, so they took away the privacy of 3,300 student.
The teenagers made their bed, now they have to sleep in it.
“Never let a good crisis go to waste!” said Democrat Rahm Emanuel; that is, always use a crisis to gain power over the people . . . to tax them more . . . etc.
Be careful what you ask for, you may get it.
There is no freedom without risk. If you demand absolute safety with no danger, you will have your safety but loose all your liberties. It’s called “prison.”
