A Criticism of Rev. Graham’s Message, “Give to Caesar What is Caesars”
The Rev. Billy Graham is a 97 year-old servant of the Lord, and has preached a clear, simple gospel that has impacted millions. So, this is not a criticism of His life, ministry, or character, but it is a criticism of his message titled, “Give to Caesar What is Caesar’s.”
Rev. Graham was a successful evangelist among the talk-a-lot Baptists with an open-door, no-demands-made, maximum-inclusive, commercial business (church) organizations.
Graham, who was not a theologian, preached an inoffensive, non-controversial, limited, get-saved-now Bible message.
He did not preach the hard things of Scripture because he did not want to hurt, annoy, anger, disturb, sting, shock, distress, snub, fret, provoke, irritate, or isolate elected officials. For this reason, he was called “the Nation’s Pastor.”
Having said this, let’s analyze Rev. Graham’s message, “‘Give to Caesar What Is Caesar’s’: The Rev. Billy Graham Has a Pointed Message for Those Who Say They Won’t Be Voting for President.” (Billy Hallowell reporting, June 10, 2016 in The Blaze).
Rev. Graham’s message is directed towards those Americans who are fed up with the political process. That me times ten!
It needs criticism because this is the way most of God’s sheeple think.
Mr. Graham decided that if Americans go not vote, “before long we’d lose our freedoms and be ruled by a power-hungry dictatorship.”
First of all, American’s do not elect presidents. Presidential candidates are financed by the UN elite, approved by political parties, and then elected through the “electoral college.” Voting is an illusion, a trick, a fraud, a sham, a con game, a fiction, a stacked deck, a dog-an-pony show totally lacking in integrity.
“The shaping of the will of Congress and the choosing of the American president has become a privilege reserved to the country’s equestrian classes, a.k.a. the 20% of the population that holds 93% of the wealth, the happy few who run the corporations and the banks, own and operate the news and entertainment media, compose the laws and govern the universities, control the philanthropic foundations, the policy institutes, the casinos, and the sports arenas.”—Journalist Lewis Lapham
Second, America is already a democratic dictatorship where we are told to pay up, shut up, grow up, line up, and give up more liberties.
Mr. Graham seems to think that voting will prevent “power hungry” politicians rising to power. History would be hard pressed to find a more power hungry person than Hillary Clinton who “will do anything to get elected.” And, voting has not stopped her from becoming America’s first woman elect presidential candidate.
The Supreme Court is stacked with unelected party loyalists who dictate what they think the law should be—same-sex-marriage being an example.
We live in a country with over 80,000 SWAT raids per year where police consider themselves “LAW ENFORCEMENT OFFICERS” that act like a standing army with militarized weapons and vehicles.
Third, voting is not the cure for politicians with imperial ambitions. Russians vote and they have a dictatorship.
Fourth, the “United States, Inc.” is a corporation owned by the UN and only members of the corporation are permitted to vote (U.S. citizens). Natural born “American Nationals” are not permitted to participate.
Rev. Graham said that no governmental system is perfect, and that indifference to the political process is dangerous to the republic.
Americans are not asking for a perfect government; but, they do expect excellence and integrity. What we have are the best politicians money can buy. We are sick and tired of evil in government and the indifference of politicians toward the American people; that is, American politicians do not represent the people; rather, they represent themselves.
The American system has morphed into a government of corporations, by corporations, and for corporations—and a nation of immigrants, by immigrants, for immigrants. To hell with those who were born here!
I agree that indifference to the political process is dangerous, but voting every four years is not the answer. To think that voting is going to change the corruption in Washington D.C. is dreamland. It would be better to starve the beast and refuse to pay taxes than to shoulder up their fraud by voting. In fact, if every good American stopped voting and stopped paying taxes, the curtain of fraud would come crashing down.

Graham doesn’t seem to understand that it is the shadow government that pulls the strings in national elections, not the voter.
Rev. Graham said, “I also urge you to vote for another reason: I believe it is a God-given responsibility,”
Really? Where does the Bible say that? I looked at the Ten Commandments again, and I didn’t find a command, “Thou shall vote.” I did a word search in the Bible and the term “vote” does not appear.
Voting is a communist, democratic process where two wolves and a sheep decide what’s for lunch! In our system, it doesn’t matter who is the winner, you can be sure that Americans will be the loser.
Graham said that people still had a responsibility to support the government in “every way they possibly could,”
Support the government? Are we to support a government regardless of its character? Should Christians support a Gaylord president like Obama, and should Christians have supported Lenin, Stalin, Mao Tse Tung, Hitler, Mussolini, and Pol Pot? Do Christians have a duty to support a government that has declared war on God’s law order, the Bible, Christianity, and is anti-Christ in every way? Shouldn’t such regimes be resisted and not supported? Didn’t the prophets of old resist unjust kings of their time?
Isn’t the call of the hour to resist, resist, resist in every way possible?
Sorry, Mr. Graham, God called Christians to be salt, not sugar; obedient to Him, not obedient to government; to support “God-given” governments; and, to oppose “beastly” governments.
And, Rev. Graham said Americans should “give to Caesar what is Caesar’s, and to God what is God’s.”
I have some questions for Mr. Graham:
What belongs to Caesar?
Does everything belong to Caesar?
Do votes belong to Caesar? Isn’t voting voluntary?
Do you belong to Caesar?
Does your house and car and children and bank account belong to Caesar? The U.S. government seems to think so.
Since “the earth is the Lord’s and the people thereof,” Me thinks just about nothing belongs to Caesar except his own artificial creations; that is, the answer to what belongs to government is closer to nothing than something. In America, only Washington D.C. and its insular possessions belong to the federal government.
Furthermore, who is Caesar in America?
Didn’t “WE THE PEOPLE” create a federal government? Aren’t the American people Caesar in this country, and aren’t we suppose to have a servant government? Since when did Congress get the power to tell the American people what to do and how to do it? Don’t we have a constitution to limit government? And, don’t we have a government that’s done outgrown its britches?
Why didn’t Rev. Graham say the government has a duty to support the Constitution? Where in the Constitution does it require anything from the people? Name one! S
ince when do WE THE PEOPLE have a duty to support the Constitution? Isn’t that the duty of judges and public officers (Article VI)?
Why didn’t Rev. Graham say that a government has a duty to submit itself to the King of the Nations? Lacking in Graham’s interview was any mention that Christ is King and that politicians have a duty to “kiss the Son” (Psalm 2).
Graham’s gospel is one of “fire insurance” pleading to Christ as “Savior,” but not one requiring politicians to acknowledge Christ as Lord, Master, and King so they can enter the Kingdom of God. This flaw impacts his politics.
Rev. Graham said Americans should “give to Caesar what is Caesar’s, and to God what is God’s.” But, why didn’t he talk about the government’s duty to “give unto God’s what is God’s?” Americans volunteer 50% of their income to the State every single month! What more can you ask of them?
The far greater problem in this country is not the people’s lack of support for government, but the government’s lack of support to the LORD God, its own constitution, and the strength of the family.
Isn’t it the government that has removed plaques and monuments to the Ten Commandments from its public buildings? Isn’t it the government’s idolatrous practices of bringing Muslims and immigrants to America that is destroying the country? Isn’t it’s the government’s support of baby killing and Sodomy that’s offended the LORD God?
Why didn’t Graham encourage Americans to resist the wickedness in government, and the homosexual, gender-bender agenda of America’s first homosexual president?
Rev Graham said Americans should be praying for the nation and her leaders, Graham said, appealing to 1 Timothy 2:1-2, which reads, “I urge, then, first of all, that petitions, prayers, intercession and thanksgiving be made for all people— 2 for kings and all those in authority, that we may live peaceful and quiet lives in all godliness and holiness.
Who can disagree with this verse? But, should we be praying for the success of the likes of Nancy Pelosi, Harry Reid, Hilary Clinton, and Obama? Wouldn’t a prayer like, “May his days be few; may another take his office!” be more appropriate (Psalm 109:8)? Psalm 109 is part of the Bible also . . . and, haven’t we reached a “tipping point” where imprecatory prayers are just as applicable as perfumed petitions.
Shouldn’t Rev. Graham have called on Americans to repent of their idolatries, fornication, Sodomy, and murder of babies so their prayers would be received (Isaiah 59:2).
In summary, Rev. Graham called on Americans to vote and to support the government as if voting was the only remedy for the disease. Sadly lacking was any reference to Christ as King or a call to the government to repent of its sins and to confess Christ a Lord, Master, and King.
Over all, Rev. Graham’s answers were nothing but Christian platitudes–platitudes lacking any serious, clarifying reflection about the Biblical remedy to a UN owned, gluttonous, out-of-control government.
