On 10-9-2025, the media announced a truce between Palestinians and Netanyahu. “We ended the war in Gaza, and really, on a much bigger basis, created peace, and I think it’s going to be a lasting peace, hopefully an everlasting peace,” Trump said in a cabinet meeting.
Will it continue? Who knows?
The peace plan is ugly. How can the Palestinians agree to a plan of peace with Jews demanding to supervise their development . . . and with Netanyahu demanding the Palestinians teach “good” things about Israel to their children after Israel killed their family members?
Will Netanyahu be able to keep his finger off the trigger if the Palestinian raise a Palestinian flag in Gaza and develop a Palestinian parliament?
Someone said, “An ugly peace is better than a bloody war.” True, but how can the Palestinians develop and independent state with radical Jews breathing down their neck expecting the impossible from their defeated foes. Time will tell, but meantime, good men rejoice.
Chris Hedges, for example, remains skeptical about Trump’s peace plan:: “They end the same way. Israel gets what it wants initially — in the latest case the release of the remaining Israeli hostages — while it ignores and violates every other phase until it resumes its attacks on the Palestinian people..” (Space Commando).
