The Problem between Palestinians and Jews in a Nut Shell
The political disputes between Palestinians crammed into the Gaza Strip and Israel’s powerful military police force is a mess.
It is not easy to gain the correct moral perspective.
Since 1948, the Jews made a land grab in Palestine stealing land, driving Palestinians out of their homes, and packing survivors into the largest, hottest Ghetto in the world, a.k.a. the “Gaza strip.”
The Palestinians lost their land, their freedom, their homes, and their earthly hopes . . . and they are fighting back with sticks, stones, and smuggled in menial rockets. Driven to desperation, Hamas leads the resistance against Israel.
If your home and hopes were stolen by a government and given to foreigners, what would you do?
Recently, Palestinian terror groups led by Hamas threw rocks, burned tires, set fields ablaze, and fired rockets and mortars at towns and cities in southern Israel. “The Israel Defense Forces responded with dozens of airstrikes on Hamas military targets. After almost 24 hours of fire, a tacit understanding and unofficial ceasefire began, though both sides have described it as fragile” (The Times of Israel, June 2018).
So, who are you for?
If you believe that European, Ashkenazi Jews are God’s chosen people, that this other Israel has a God-given right to Palestine by virtue of ancient land grant promises (Genesis 2); that Israel can do no wrong; and, that to resist Israel is to resist God, then you will be a blind supporter of Modern Israel’s killing machine.
You will support Israel shooting its sophisticated rockets into Gaza killing innocent Palestians in an effort to defend themselves against the people from whom they stole their homes and land fighting with sticks and stones to get back their farms. Though it is like shooting fish in a barrel, you will justify it.
If you believe that the Palestinians were wrongfully driven from their farms by lusty, covetous militant fake Jews who broke their international treaty, that their oppressors violated the common law and international law to steal their land, then you will have some sympathy for the displaced Palestinians even though they are led by radical Hamas.
The political crisis is a mess.If you had the power, what would you?
The Palestinians want their land back, and they have a moral right to it! They must fight and try to create a life for themselves away from the Gaza Prison.
Israel created this mess and they have a duty before God to create a remedy.
From Israel perspective, however, the Palestinians are radicalized and not easily assimilated back into the “Holy Land.” There is no way the nation of 8.5 million “Jews” sweating fear can absorb 1.8 million angry Palestinians eager to spit bullets back into their territory.
Until then one wiser than Solomon arrives, there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.
