Obama’s Commencement Blither Blather
I tried to listen to it . . . but unlike the poor Coast Guard Cadets, I could change channels and listened to something more pleasant . . . like the 29 wounded and nine killings in Baltimore over Memorial Day Weekend.
Blaa, blaa, blaa:
“Understand, climate change did not cause the conflicts we see around the world. Yet what we also know is that severe drought helped to create the instability in Nigeria that was exploited by the terrorist group Boko Haram. It’s now believed that drought and crop failures and high food prices helped fuel the early unrest in Syria, which descended into civil war in the heart of the Middle East.” (Obama)
Oh, Mr. Obama, are drought and heat really the cause of murder, beheadings, and the gang rape of young girls? Is evil really in the environment? Will pouring money into Baltimore and Chicago and Boko Haram cool the anger of men and cleans society of terrorism? I live in New Mexico where it gets hotter than . . . well, you know what I mean. And, there has never been a beheading in this sweltering state as far as I know. Though, at times, the heat does make us swear and curse a few presidents.
Let me be as clear as possible: evil is not in the Sun-baking, cloudless sky. It is in men. Bad in men, not bad weather is the cause of bad deeds. Men need a Savior to save them from their sin; and, they need crack ’em-down, just government that will hunt down the evil doers and kill ’em. Christianity supports both: a gospel that saves men through the accomplishments of Christ; and, the Law of the LORD God that urges governments to purge evil from society by punishing murderers and terrorists.
