Religion is not a competition to see who can be the most religious, but it is noteworthy to contrast Russian orthodox Christianity with America’s institutionalized paganism.
Not knowing how any Russian athlete could survive the surf and foam or godless Rio, “The father-confessor of the Russian Olympic team, rector of St. Dimitry Donskoy Church in Severnoye Butovo (district in south-east Moscow) Archpriest Andrey Alexeyev has organized a chapel for Russian athletes.”
Apparently, Christianity is so unimportant to Americans, no 501 c 3 church organized to build a place for American Olympians to pray.
Furthermore, the Orthodox Chapel was “opened in the Olympic village in Rio de Janeiro” for the spiritual support of the Olympians where “each athlete receives support and consolation there, parishioners of St. Zinaida Church in Rio de Janeiro told Interfax-Religion on Thursday.
Prayer services for athletes from Russia, Byelorussia and Ukraine are conducted in the chapel every day.”
The absence of spiritual, noteworthy news about Bible reading and prayer among American athletes provides more evidence how secular and pagan America has become. Who needs God when you have the United Stats Government behind you?
